Interesting Community Information "The Scoop" Real Estate Analysis

Cambria Real Estate

Cambria is located on the central coast of California, approximately 240 miles south of San Francisco and 240 miles north of Los Angeles. Whether you are a first time buyer or an experienced investor, you will find useful information about how to choose the “right” property, making an offer, negotiating, financing, mortgage rates, moving and everything involved in making an informed real estate decision in today’s market.

San Luis Obispo Real Estate

San Luis Obispo County is a wonderful county located approximately halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles and features a wide range of terrain; beaches, rolling hills, wineries, ranches, open range, a sophisticated city and a well known and well regarded university. Most of it is “vertical on the map” north to south, rather than east to west, and includes a lot of shoreline property.

San Simeon

The most northern town is San Simeon, where the Hearst Castle State Historic Monument – the castle! – is located. Elephant seals have chosen this as part of their home while they are on land, and it is a protected area through the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. The Piedras Blancas National Light Station (lighthouse) is here too.

Cambria

Cambria is just a few miles south of San Simeon and is a resort destination with two distinct villages; East and West. East Village is full or art galleries, fine eateries and some real historical monuments, including a bar where John Steinbeck used to drink! The West Village has many wonderful shops and both villages are pedestrian friendly. Moonstone Beach is a very popluar beach as well as the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, about 440 acres of open space with the Pacific Ocean as a neighbor!  Population is about 6400.
Cayucos
Cayucos is a small, charming south facing beach town, population about 2200! An inviting pier and downtown with some great restaurants and shopping draws the tourists as well as keeps the locals local! Some excellent ranch properties are just inland a bit! The graceful arc of Estero Bay is beautiful all year round. I once saw dolphins leaping out of the water next to the pier at sunset…
Morro Bay
What fun you can have in Morro Bay! Whether it is shooting your best game at the well kept gold course, kayaking around the bay or exploring the embarcadero you’ll relax in the abundant natural beauty.  The downtown has some wonderful shopping and there is no shortage of excellent restaurants in both the downtown area and the marina.  A state park and visitor center is quite popular. Population is about 10,000.
Los Osos
Just north of San Luis Obispo and south of Morro Bay, Los Osos has a fabulous location.  Not to mention being the host town of the incredible Montana del Oro State Park and the South Bay Estuary and the Elfin Forest and the Los Osos Oak Preserve, well, you’ll just have to see it for yourself!  Population is about 14,000.

The southern most part of the ocean adjacent county includes Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach and Grover Beach, where sand dune riding is popular. Slightly inland is Nipomo and Arroyo Grande. Further north, and inland is the heart of the county, the city of San Luis Obispo, a progressive college town with a great downtown shopping and historical district. North and more inland is Santa Margarita, with a huge lake and park and more equestrian estates and ranches. Creston and Templeton feature more ranches and horse related activities as well as some great wineries.
